About Our Doctor
Dr. Islam is a board certified specialist who has post-doctoral fellowship training in psychosomatic medicine from both Harvard and Vanderbilt Schools of Medicine.
He is a medical doctor who has training in medicine, psychiatry, neurology and psychosomatic medicine and has been practicing for more than 30 years.
Dr. Islam was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry from 1978 to 2003 at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport. Dr. Islam was Clinical Assistants Professor in the Department of Psychiatry from 2002 to 2010 at the Vanderbilt School of Medicine.
Dr. Islam has served our country and is now a retired captain (colonel) in the United States Naval Reserve Medical Corps.
